It seems that three games in four days was more than the Sox could handle. After a great win against the White Sox on Saturday, the Sox struggled with pitching against the Dodgers on Monday and struggled with the bats against the Cards on Tuesday. It just seemed like the Sox ran out of steam! Grant pitched three good innings giving up just 3 runs. Eric followed and Anthony after Eric.
The Cards had a pitcher that the Sox just could not hit against. Once that pitcher was out of the game, then the Sox bats came alive. You have to admire the way the Sox kept fighting until the very end. Anthony went 1-3 with a run scored and 2 RBI's. Anthony also pitched the last two innings of the game. Isaiah was also on base with 2 singles and scored both times. Ryan E went 2-3 with 1 run scored and 1 RBI. Grant was having a rough time at the plate until the last inning when he hit a bases clearing double that scored 3 RBI's. Justin also came alive in the last inning with a clean triple! Justin was thrown out at home when Coach Huddy tried to steal an extra needed run. It took a great play by the Cards to get Justin out! Andrew was 1-3 and Davey had 2 walks. Dylan was on base once and Ryan P had a base hit and scored a run. Eric was on base all three times he batted and scored a run!
All in all the Sox bats just took too long to wake up. The Sox struck out 9 times and also had at least two double plays against them! If given more time, the Sox would have definitely caught the Cards. But, darkness fell and the Sox had to settle for the loss.
The Red Sox played four strong innings on Wednesday. Grant started off pitching followed by Eric, and Anthony.

The Red Sox managed to fight off the dark and play a complete six inning game for the first time on Thursday night. Andrew shouldered the pitching load by throwing four strong innings followed up by Ryan E and Anthony closed out the game. It was by far the best test for the Red Sox in this young season as the White Sox are a good hitting and a good pitching team.
