The offense was silent through 5 innings, not scoring any runs while striking out 9 times. In the 6th, the bats woke up for 9 runs resulting in a 9-4 first round victory over the Warriors. The Bones finished the Spring 2013 regular season off on a 5-game winning streak heading into the playoffs with a 5-2 win over the Gamecasters. Chris Moore continued his hot hitting, going 2 for 3 with 2 runs, 1 double, a walk, an rbi, and a stolen base. Trailing by 1 with 2 outs in the 9th inning, Cody Nicholson tied the game with an rbi double. Cheyne Whitney followed Cody's double up with a game winning rbi single for the win in his Bones' debut. Ryan Martin finished the game 2 for 4 with while Chris Moore had his best game of the season, going 3 for 4 with 2 runs and a double.
Both Mitch Eilenberg and Jackson Chapelone injured themselves on the mound, resulting in 9 runs over 3 innings and an 11-10 loss. Despite a 4-run 4th inning, Christian Alvarado dominated the Colorado Reds in our quarter final game with an 8-4 win. Taking out the 4th, Christian limited the Reds to only 4 hits in the other 8 shutout innings. Ryan Martin, Danny Harris, and Alex Gascon each had 2 rbi, while Cody Nicholson finished 3 for 4 with 2 runs.
Our hot hitting continued into the second game, as we took an 11-0 lead into the 5th inning against Club Phoenix. By the end, it was a 15-5 mercy rule win to sweep pool play. Despite 6 errors and 5 unearned runs, the offense picked up the slack to win Game 1 of the Las Vegas tournament, 14-7 over the Dirtbags. Alex Gascon, Manny Cardeiro, Jackson Chapelone, and Evan Zupancic all had multi-hit games. Danny Harris, Alex, and Manny combined for 8 total runs from the 2-4 spots in the lineup. Danny Harris and Mike Scharbarth sparked a 4-run 8th inning capping off a late rally win over the Gamecasters, 10-7. Danny Harris, Alex Gascon, Mike Scharbarth and Ryan Rose all finished with 2 hits.
