The Bones 10, Warriors 5
Posted by bones24 on November 14th, 2015
Coming off our worst loss in history, the team rebounded with a solid 10-5 victory over the Warriors. Ryan Rose tossed 7 innings with 8 strikeouts for the win. While Matt Delson and Ryan Martin paced the offense, Matt finishing with 3 hits and Ryan scoring 3 runs with a double and homerun. The win should keep us as a top 4 seed in playoffs, which begin next weekend.
The Bones dropped a 6 spot in the top of the first, and the game was essentially over from there. The Tigers made it interesting with a 4-run 3rd inning, but our bats never cooled the whole game in a 21-6 win. Alex Booras led the team with 3 hits, while Mario Guzman, Manny Hernandez, Mike Lange and Ryan Rose all had multi-hit games. Mike led the way with 4 rbi, including...
Absolutely nothing good about this one in a 14-0 mercy rule loss. The team only collected 5 hits in the game, and there were multiple ejections. Poor officiating definitely effected this game from the start. We'll look to rebound next weekend, but the loss likely kills our shot at a first round bye.
Coming into a championship game rematch, we failed to capitalize on an opportunity to take control of the top seed for this season's playoffs. The Angels jumped out to an early 5-1 lead, and never looked back in a 9-3 loss. Mario Guzman led the offense, with 3 hits out of the leadoff spot. Unfortunately there wasn't much offense behind him. We'll look to rebound in next weekend's doubleheader.
James Watts, Ryan Rose and David Wynn combine on a 6-hitter in the Bones 7-0 win over the Stallions. Austin Rauch, Mike Lange and Ryan each homered to lead the offense. Austin, Manny Cardiero and Mike Scharbarth all had 2 hits on the day.
In a game that provide little offense for both teams, the Clippers came through when needed in a 4-3 loss for the Bones. Four walks to start 3 innings each came around to score, and ultimately did us in. Lucas Whitmore did well for the Bones, tossing 8 innings with 9 strikeouts in the no decision. Phillip Brown and Manny Hernandez each had 2 hits on the day for the offense. ...
Heading into a matchup against the last place Ghosts, this one was never in doubt. David Wynn tossed the first 5 innings, allowing only 2 hits while striking out 13. Manny Cardeiro kicked started the scoring with a first inning 2-run homerun. Both Manny and Ryan Martin ended the day with 3 hits. The win keeps us in 2nd place as we head into a tough stretch against a few playoff...
Our worse performance of the tournament ended up being in the most important game, as our offense and defense both disappeared in a 12-2 championship game loss to the La Onda Scrappers. Overall, the San Diego Bones finished 5-3 in the tournament and took 2nd place. Manny Cardeiro led the offense, finishing with a .448 average, 9 runs, 3 doubles, a triple, 2 homeruns, and 8 rbi. Newcomer Austin Rauch quickly proved...
Down 4 runs with 2 strikes and 2 outs in the ninth, Alex Booras doubled to keep the game alive. Three batters later, Alex Gascon cleared the bases with a game tying 3-rbi double. Despite giving up a go-ahead run in the top of the 10th, Manny Hernandez and Phillip Brown each came through with rbi singles in the bottom half to secure the win. The victory keeps us one game behind...
