Did You See That? I Saw That!
Calle Bulldogs 32, Clippers 14

Must Watch Channel 22 on Feb. 18 @ 6pm

Probably, you did see that game where the Calle Bulldogs got their third win in a row topping the Clippers. But I am not positive since I did not see that game. The Scoredad spent this Saturday at Lake Arrowhead in a Boy Scout camp with his older son. Plenty of chilly fun, but it was up to the Scoremom to keep track of this game and we have a scoresheet to document it. Lots of good stuff on there. For example.

Lucas again lit up the scoreboard and lit up the backboard with a game high 9 points and a game high 8 rebounds. Tanner was another force with 7 points and a team record six steals. Solid support from Garrett who went 2-5 for four points and 5 rebounds and Jesse likewise was 2-4 for four points. Three points each from Ryan and Evan.

Another team effort with only 2 team fouls. Wow.

So I missed a good game, but the upside is this one will be shown on our local cable channel in a couple of weeks. And we can watch all the fun from our favorite couch. And I can double check the scorekeeping from Scoremom. Although she probably did a terrific job. In the meantime we will call this a provisional recap.

Off next week for the Presidential holiday, but more good times to come in two weeks.

Now I saw it. Even better than imagined. More rebounds and assists and steals than originally thought. A few more fouls though, too.

The Bulldogs saved their best for last in both the first and second periods with quick scores and crushing defense to nail down the closing minutes. The Clippers were outmatched on both ends of the court as they shot a little over 16% and were in the free throw penalty halfway through the second period. The Bulldogs shot an under average 24%, but were 40% from the free throw line and only fouled five Clippers the entire game.

Lucas was indeed the baddest dog with 9 points and 15 rebounds to stay atop the leaderboards.

Tanner has the team record with 7 steals as he picked Clipper pockets seemingly at will while scoring 7 points.

Max has the new team record with 3 assists.

Blocked shots by Evan and Lucas further frustrated the Clipper shooters.

Garrett was also big on the boards with 6 rebounds and 4 points and Jesse matched up with 4 points.

Ryan pulled down 7 big boards and kicked in 3 points intimidating any Clipper that came close.

The Clippers kept it close for a while, but in the end it was the Bulldog's day for all to see and enjoy on channel 22. Keep a copy for those college scouts. And maybe Grandma and Grandpa.
